DNA Services of America Opens Office in Business Development Center
to Provide “Identity Search” Services in the Upper Coastal Plain Region

WILSON, NC – August 26, 2008 – The Upper Coastal Plain Business Development Center today announced that DNA Services of America has become a Client company of the regional small business incubator located at 121 West Nash Street in downtown Wilson, the site of the former Belk-Tyler’s Store. The company collects DNA samples and has them processed to determine paternity, create an identity record for children, genealogy, nutrigenetics, forensics, and birth certificate amendment.

Larry Jones, Principal and Case Manager, resides in Wallace, NC and has operated DNA Services of America in Southeastern North Carolina since January 2008. His primary service area includes the following counties: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Greene, Hoke, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Wayne and Wilson. However, he is extending his services into the Upper Coastal Plain Region in Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, and Northampton counties, as well as Pitt and other counties in Eastern North Carolina.

“I’m passionate about this work because it’s all about who we are and where we come from and it affects peoples’ lives in the most fundamental and profound ways,” say Mr. Jones.  “The emotional, financial, and legal ramifications of determining parentage can be enormous,” he continued. “Everyone has the right to know their roots, whether for peace of mind, to know about possible hereditary medical issues, or to establish responsibility for support of a child.”
“My role is to enable people to benefit from today’s DNA technology by providing fast, accurate services in properly collecting DNA samples, facilitating the processing by certified laboratory professionals, and delivering confidential results.” Said Jones. “Most of my work is done in the field, but being in the business incubator gives me a ‘home office’ in the region to reach my clients and serve a much larger community.”

“We are excited to have DNA Services of America on board in the small business incubator,” said Larry Lytle, executive director of the Business Development Center. “It is a tremendous service and we’re pleased to help make it available in the Upper Coastal Plain region. They expect to be increasing staff at an average rate of one associate per quarter, and that means new jobs in the area. That’s what incubation is about.”

Larry Jones, Principal and Case Manager of DNA Services of America can be reached at (910) 552-0156, or at the Business Development Center at (252) 234-5900.
