Optimum Coumputer Training Solutions Verna Edwards, Owner/Operator The Upper Coastal Plain Business Development Center (BDC) is pleased to welcome Verna Edwards, owner of Optimum Computer Training Solutions, as the newest client company of the small business incubator. Verna provides group and individual training on the latest PC software applications to include: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Front Page, Publisher, Digital Photography, and other widely-used programs. Since entering the BDC in December, Optimum Computer Training Solutions conducts day and evening classes in the facility and is planning a weekend class to better accommodate client work schedules. Most clients are “non-traditional,” meaning they are typically working full-time or operating a small business and are interested in sharpening their skills or brushing up on the latest software applications. This short term computer training program also serves as a great tool for dislocated workers who need to retrain in new areas opening up alternative job opportunities.
Optimum Computer Training Solutions also provides on-site training for a number of corporate customers for workgroups and administrative staff to help them achieve greater efficiencies by understanding how to get the most out of the applications they use in the work place on a day-to-day basis. They learn many of the “nuances, tricks, and tips” that quickly improve proficiency. This training is a wise investment for employers, because improved computer skills result in higher productivity and reduced costs. “The BDC is state of the art with LCD projectors, training room, broadband internet access, and networked computers. There is a receptionist available to me, conference room space, copy and fax machine, and all the necessaries needed for a start-up company. My lease is like no other. Greg Godard and the BDC is all about helping me develop a successful and profitable business.” Verna Edwards. Verna can be reached at 252-314-8456 or email
